This isn't a US-founded company adding India to its platform. This is Bangalore-based Versatile, built by someone who read every G2 review, every Reddit complaint, every Trustpilot thread about EOR in India. And then decided to build something different.
The origin story
I spent weeks reading every G2 review of Deel, Remote, Wisemonk, Oyster, and Multiplier. Every Reddit thread where US founders complained about India hiring. Every Trustpilot post about surprise charges and slow onboarding. I wasn't looking to complain. I was looking for gaps.
What I found was clear: Global EOR platforms treat India as one country among 150. Compliance is bolted on, not core. Pricing is opaque - hidden setup fees, exit penalties, surprise charges at month three. Onboarding takes 2-3 weeks when it should take days. US and UK founders get INR invoices they have to explain to their finance teams. And when you call with a problem, you hit a ticket queue.
So I built Versatile. From Bangalore, not from San Francisco. India-native, not India-adapted.
